AL HOFELD, JR. TO LAUNCH CAMPAIGN FOR 13TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT STATE SENATE SEAT THIS SUNDAY

Hofeld Has Plans for Job Creation, Foreclosure Reduction; Supports All of the Reform Recommendations Made by the Illinois Reform Commission

On Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 3:00 P.M., Al Hofeld, Jr., a Chicago public interest attorney and long-time social justice advocate, will officially kick-off his campaign for Illlnois' 13th Legislative District State Senate seat at Room 43, located at 1043 East 43rd Street, in Chicago, Illinois.

"The residents of the 13th Legislative District deserve a state senator that will work tirelessly to help create new jobs and bring both quality public education and afforable health care to the District," said Mr. Hofeld. "I have a long personal and professional history of serving the poor, the homeless, victims of foreclosure and others in desperate need of an advocate for social justice and I will bring that same steadfast commitment to the state senate."

Mr. Hofeld's history of service to those in need spans more than two decades. He is the principal founder and past Chairman of the South Side Community Federal Credit Union - a not-for-profit, community-owned and operated financial institution serving low- and moderate-income people as an alternative to currency exchanges, payday lenders and other predators. During law school, he worked for the exoneration of innocent men on death row and torture victims of former Area 2 Commander John Burge. Prior to law school, Mr. Hofeld spent five years organizing the homeless in Woodlawn, both with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and as Founder and Director of A HOPE - an award-winning, model day center and safe haven shelter.
